Well, we are two and a half weeks away from launching!! My support letters and prayer cards (see previous blog entries) have been sent off and now I’m starting to prepare for the packing portion on the trip. I am traveling to San Luis Obispo tomorrow (Sunday) to meet with my travel partner Jeanette and my mother in law Brenda. Jeanette will be leaving this week for Samara and Brenda has gone to Samara in the past with Jeanette, but will not be attending this particular trip. Both of these meetings with both of these ladies are crucial in finalizing my prepartions for Samara. Jeanette will be going over two weeks before me to start working with CrossRoads. (Our itinerary will be posted on my blog soon!) I’m hoping to get a lot of my questions answered before she leaves. My mother in law will have many stories to tell me as well as pictures and gift ideas the Russian people. Jeanette told me that she may have a few things that didn’t fit in her suitcase that I need to bring back to Orange County and pack in my suitcase! I am a little bit nervous about the weight limit and what all I need to bring as far as clothes. The weather is supposed to be cooler, so I’m envisioning Alaska weather! At least I know what that’s like. I got a new pair of boots for the trip and some long heavy socks…looks like I’ll have to leave the beach clothes at home this time…this ain’t no tropical vacation!!
